Directions to John's Carpet House
For the summer of 2007, the schedule will be every Sunday from 4pm til dark until the end of September. Here is a link to Google Maps and the address: 2133 Frederick St Detroit, MI 48211 The festival actually occurs in a field across the street from where John used to live, so this is actually the address of a field. If you can get to the Detroit Institute of Arts, then you will find it pretty easy to follow Warren to St Aubin to Frederick and the Carpet House.  If you have any questions, call Pete Barrow at (313) 948-5911

Reginald is one of the founding members of the Carpet House Band, along with John Estes,  Dave the Drummer,  and Handyman Ray.  (Probably hundreds of people have sat in, but that's a different story.)  Reginald  played at the Carpet House on and off for about 4 years.

Reginald's experience transcends the Carpet House though.  Reginald is  one of those great musicians "raised in the church".  His father and all his brothers played instruments in the Baptist Church band.   Reginald was playing his guitar there at age 9.

In the 80's and 90's Reginald played in the professional church groups the Trumpelettes of Detroit and the Morning Echos.  More recently, he has played with The Mighty Clouds of Joy.

Reginald has been a valued "hired gun" guitar player in Detroit.   He has toured with the Contours, the Motown group who who had various hits including "Do You Love Me".   He has been part of the lineup of various R&B groups including Pick in 2005, Sonny C and Liquid Smoke.

He has played behind Priscilla Price who was just presented with a "LIFE TIME ACHEMENT AWARD". by the Blues Society of Detroit in June 2006

Reginald is a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar and  bass, is a singer, and a band promoter.  He can play any style with authority because he plays in the first person.  He can put together a special band for you.  Jazz, blues, R&B, gospel ...  he can custom build a band with that extra something to really make your event shine.  Church events, banquets, parties, or make up something.   He can be reached at (313) 459-1461.
